Vessels
Many of our vessels are of the 'Neptune 35' design and can be viewed at www.neptuneboats.co.uk. They are all compliant
with the UK Seafish Standards built and fitted out in conjunction with the Marine Coastguard Agency (MCA) Codes of Practice. All vessels
have onboard WC, galley and seating for your comfort. The 'Neptune 35' is licensed to carry up to 12 passengers and 2 crew
and they have undergone stringent sea trials and stability tests to allow the vessels to travel under the MCA Yellow Code of Practise
which allows day or night travel 60 miles from safe haven.
The 'Neptune 35's are very powerful semi displacement vessels capable of speeds up to 25 knots allowing them to
travel very quickly to off shore fishing grounds. For example, by the time you have had a cup of tea and a sandwich, our skippers could
have relocated the vessels to better fishing grounds up to 20 miles further to sea.
Aboard all of the vessels are many aids to assist the keen sea angler i.e. fishfinder, GPS, echo sounder and radar. All vessels are
manned with fully qualified and experienced Skippers, who hold as a minimum the following Certificates of Competence:
A Current Skippers Licence (RYA)
Sea Survival
Fire Fighting
First Aid
Radio Use
Safety Awareness
Each vessel is well equipped with personal safety equipment and life raft. Members will be given a briefing on Safety at Sea and how
to use the safety equipment before every trip. Also how to react in an emergency at sea. |
