Examples
To help explain the concept a little more we have put together some examples.
Example 1
Mr Fisher likes to have a couple of short breaks per year sea angling in the UK. On the 1st October 2007 he purchases 1500 points
per year for 3 years on the Boat Bond® Bronze plan and becomes a Boat Bond Member. This costs him a total of £324 and entitles
him to choose to fish from any of our locations until 30th September 2010.
Taking advantage of his purchase straight away, he decides to take a 4 day fishing trip from Monday to Thursday in January 2008 on the
Cleveland/Yorkshire Coast. Consulting the tariffs, he books the 4 weekdays for 250 points per day with a user charge of £18 per
day (ie his points account is debited 1000 points and he is invoiced for £72).
This leaves Mr Fisher with an account balance of 500 points. He decides to
take a short 2 day fishing break, this time on the Suffolk/Norfolk coast, in
July 2008. Consulting the tariffs, he books a Monday and Tuesday for 250
points per day with a user charge of £18 per day (ie his points account is
debited 500 points and he is invoiced for £36).
i.e. With the Bronze Plan, Mr Fisher enjoys his first 6 days fishing of his 3 year bronze plan at a cost of only £36.00
per day!
Example 2
Mrs Rodman purchases a Boat Bond® Silver Plan as an Anniversary present for her husband to enable him to become a Boat Bond®
Member. This entitles Mr Rodman 1500 points every year for the next 6 years at a total cost to his wife of £540.
In his first year he decides to go fishing 3 week days from Hartlepool and 3 week days from Lowestoft so as to use his yearly 1500
points allocation and does not have to pay a user charge at all in the first year because his Boat Bond® Silver Plan has a special
introductory offer (No User Charge for Silver, Gold and Platinum Plan Members in the first 12 months). Unlike Mr Fisher in example 1
above, who purchased the Boat Bond® Bronze Plan, Mr Rodman can calculate his first 6 days fishing to have cost only £15 per
day, and if he upgrades to a Boat Bond® Platinum Plan within the first 12 months of being a member (subject to availability) his
first 6 days fishing would then only have cost a total of £10 per day.
i.e. With the Silver Plan, Mr Rodman enjoys his first 6 days fishing of his 6 year plan and saves himself £108 in
user charges.
